Housekeeper polishing a marble counter in a modern living room

Maids & Housekeepers

From routine cleaning to the complete, ongoing care of your home — professionals selected for their standards, their discretion and the way your household runs.

Maid or housekeeper?

Both keep a home immaculate, but the roles differ in scope.

Maid

A maid focuses on cleaning and routine household support: kitchens and bathrooms, floors and surfaces, tidying, and the day-to-day work that keeps every room fresh.

Professional housekeeper

A professional housekeeper takes on the ongoing care of the home as a whole. Beyond cleaning, a housekeeper looks after organization, laundry, linens and wardrobe care, fine surfaces and furnishings, and keeps the household running to your standards week after week.

Not sure which you need? Tell us about your home during your consultation and we will recommend the right fit — sometimes it is both.

Household responsibilities

Depending on the role and your home, responsibilities can include:

  • Cleaning and tidying living areas, kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms
  • Laundry, ironing, linens and bed making
  • Wardrobe care and organization of closets, pantries and storage
  • Care of fine surfaces, furnishings and delicate items
  • Restocking household supplies
  • Preparing the home for guests, events or the start of a season

We confirm the exact responsibilities with you before any candidate is presented, so everyone starts with the same expectations.

Schedules

We match professionals to the schedule your home needs: several days a week, full-time or on the particular days that suit your household. Share the hours, days and any live-in or live-out preference during your consultation.

Recurring or temporary

Recurring service

Recurring service is for homes that want the same trusted professional on a regular schedule — someone who learns how you like things done and keeps them that way.

Temporary service

Temporary service covers a defined need: preparing a home for a season or a move, support around an event, or cover while your regular staff are away.

Placement and screening

Every placement begins with a conversation about your home and how it runs. We then present candidates who match your requirements; each one is background checked, referenced and interviewed in person, so the only thing left for you to decide is fit. You interview the candidates you are considering, and we coordinate the placement from there.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a maid and a housekeeper?

A maid focuses on cleaning and routine household support. A housekeeper takes on the ongoing care of the home more broadly: cleaning, organization, laundry, linens and wardrobe care, and keeping the household running the way you like it.

Do you provide recurring housekeeping?

Yes. We place maids and housekeepers for recurring schedules as well as for temporary needs, such as preparing a home for a season, a move or an event. Tell us how often you need help and we will match you with professionals who fit that schedule.

How does the placement fee work?

Members pay their annual membership and an 8% placement fee on each hire, where a traditional agency typically charges an initiation fee plus 25%. For individual services outside a membership, we explain the fees during your consultation, before any search begins.

What happens if the caregiver is not the right fit?

Tell us as soon as you can. We will talk through what is not working and what you need instead, and support you in finding a better match under the terms of your service or membership. Members have 24/7 support throughout the year.
