Infant Sleep Consultants

Sleep education and a gentle, personalized plan that helps your baby — and the whole family — rest.

Healthy sleep, from the start

Few things affect a family’s wellbeing like sleep. An Infant Sleep Consultant helps parents understand how babies sleep, what to expect at each stage, and how to build habits that let everyone rest.

Healthy infant sleep is close to the heart of Sleeping Angels. Our founder, Lissette Palencia, is a Certified Infant Sleep Consultant and Certified Newborn Care Specialist, and has guided thousands of parents through newborn care and healthy infant sleep.

What an Infant Sleep Consultant does

  • Learns about your baby, your family and your current routines
  • Explains infant sleep in practical terms, so you understand the why as well as the how
  • Builds a personalized sleep plan that fits your baby and your parenting approach
  • Supports you as you put the plan into practice, and adjusts it as your baby grows

Sleep consultant or Newborn Care Specialist?

An Infant Sleep Consultant teaches and guides; the plan is yours to carry out. A Newborn Care Specialist cares for your baby hands-on — often overnight — and lays healthy sleep foundations while doing so. Some families start with a Newborn Care Specialist and later work with a sleep consultant as their baby grows.

Frequently asked questions

How does the placement fee work?

Members pay their annual membership and an 8% placement fee on each hire, where a traditional agency typically charges an initiation fee plus 25%. For individual services outside a membership, we explain the fees during your consultation, before any search begins.

What happens if the caregiver is not the right fit?

Tell us as soon as you can. We will talk through what is not working and what you need instead, and support you in finding a better match under the terms of your service or membership. Members have 24/7 support throughout the year.
